Cleaned Spirit Self Portrait |
||||
NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit used its panoramic camera to take the images combined into this second mosaic view of the rover. The downward-looking view omits the mast on which the camera is mounted. It shows that much of the dust that had accumulated on Spirit's solar panels (see the sol 329A-330A Spirit self portrait panorama) has been magically "cleaned" off the deck, most likely by one or more dust-devil wind events. The images were taken through the camera's 601nm, 535nm and 482nm filters during Sol 432 (March 21, 2005).
