Fracture SE

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 3862 (December 4, 2014). The image was taken while the rover paused over a fracture like feature. One mosaic was taken off each wing - this page shows the view to the southeast, and another page shows the view to the west from the same location. A small portion of the rover's right solar panel can be seen at the bottom of the center image. The field of view is approximately 52 degrees wide. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
