Fracture West
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sols 3859-3861 (December 1-3, 2014). The image was taken while the rover paused over a fracture like feature. One mosaic was taken off each wing - this page shows the view to the west, and another page shows the view to the southeast from the same location. A small portion of the rover's left solar panel can be seen at the bottom of the left image. The field of view is approximately 58 degrees wide.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing through red-blue glasses.
