Opportunity Deck Pan
NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity used its Pancam panoramic camera to take this composite image of its deck and solar panels. Now in its sixth Martian winter, the solar panels are remarkably clean compared to previous winters. The downward-looking view omits the mast on which the camera is mounted, but does show the shadow it casts. This mosaic was taken from Solander Point on the rim of 14-mile-wide (22-km-wide) Endeavour Crater. The images were taken through the camera's 601nm, 535nm and 482nm filters over Sols 3611 - 3613 (March 22 - 24, 2014).
