Pioneer Mound

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 1898 (May 5, 2009). Pioneer Mound rises in the center of this image, and lies near the edge of the Columbia Hills. This area was also imaged from a different angle on Sol 1865. The mosaic is roughly 30 degrees wide. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Three versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing with red blue glasses.
