Outcrop Bravo  << back to mosaics

Outcrop Bravo

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 018 (February 11, 2004). Taken from within Eagle Crater, about 5 meters (roughly 16 feet) of outcrop, named Bravo, is shown in this image. The height of this outcrop is around 3 meters (about 10 feet). Outcrop Bravo was part two of four of the science team's outcrop imaging for geomorphology/stratigraphy. Part one, three, and four are Alpha, Charlie, and Delta, respectively. Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
