Northeast Survey 4x2

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2170 (March 2, 2010). The image was taken as Opportunity continued her survey of Concepcion Crater. After a short drive, the rover looked back to the northeast at the dark rays and rubble associated with the young crater. The rover's tracks are just visible as they snake over the ripples in the background. This mosaic ties in with a 3x2 mosaic taken on sol 2172. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. The field of view is approximately 53° wide. Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
