Spirit Deck Pan #7

Over Sols 1976-1978 (July 24-27, 2009) Spirit tipped her Panoramic cameras down to acquire another self portrait. The solar arrays are shown here cleaner than they had been in years, due to a lucky gust of wind (see the Sol 1229 and Sol 1355 deckpans for comparison).

The vertical projection used here produces the best view of the rover deck, though it distorts the ground and antennas somewhat. The eight-pointed star shape near the front of the rover (top of the image) marks the location of the camera mast, which is out of view of the Pancam atop the mast. Pancam's 601nm, 535nm and 482nm filters were used in this mosaic.
