While NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity created and examined a trench on the plains, it turned its cameras back to image its tracks. In the distance, the rim of Beagle crater can be seen as a light toned horizontal streak across the top of the mosaic. The mosaic was assembled using images acquired on Opportunity's 927th sol (September 2, 2006) in Pancam's 753nm, 535nm and 432nm filters. Two versions are offered at full resolution: an approximate true color, and a false color stretch to bring out the subtle color differences in the scene.
