Bifocals

Spirit acquired this mosaic on Sol 732 (January 23, 2006) after a short drive on her trek toward Home Plate. A fine grained sand dune can be seen at the center of this image, and the rover's left solar panel frames the bottom. The large dark rock near the panel is about 25 cm across. This mosaic was made from Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters. Two versions are offered at full resolution: an approximate true color mosaic, and a false color stretch to bring out subtle color differences in the scene.
