Structure From Motion

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 4689 and 4690 (April 2 and 3, 2017).  Approximately 60 degrees wide, this mosaic is being used to create "structure from motion". Structure from motion (SFM) is a photogrammetric range imaging technique that uses two-dimensional images taken from different locations to generate an approximate three-dimensional computer rendering of the photographed structure. Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
