Outcrop Az265 1x2

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 4092 (July 29, 2015). About 16 degrees wide, the field of view shows an outcrop near the rover. The brightness variations that wash out some of the detail in this scene are the result of scattered light caused by the camera being pointed towards the general direction of the late afternoon setting Sun. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
