Lindbergh Mound

        This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 4011 (May 7, 2015). This approximately 29 degree view shows the Lindbergh Mound. Lindbergh Mound is a 7-10 foot (2-3 meter) tall rocky feature at the edge of Spirit of St. Louis Crater. This feature can be seen from a distance in the center of the Spirit of St. Louis mosaic. Another mosaic taken from a different position shows part of the hidden side of this dark feature in Spirit of St. Louis. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing through red-blue glasses.
