Lindbergh Le Bourget
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 3977 (April 2, 2015). The field of view is approximately 26 degrees wide and shows an area the team called Lindbergh, after American aviator Charles Lindbergh, and Le Bourget, after Le Bourget Field in France, where he touched down after his historic transatlantic flight.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
