Cross Sound |

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 3591 (March 1, 2014). After approaching an area called Cross Sound, the rover imaged the ground in front of the robotic arm to look for potential science targets. The arm is partially visible in the lower left corner of this image. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. Three versions are provided at full resolution: an overhead perspective projection of an approximate true color rendering, an overhead perspective projection of a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and an overhead perspective projection of a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing through red-blue glasses.
