Nobbys Head

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 3333 (June 9, 2013). This is a composite of Pancam images taken before and after a drive. The black and white mosaic was taken after a drive, and the color frames were added from the same location before the rover began driving again. Opportunity sat near Nobbys Head, shown in the right color inset, and acquired two half-frame mosaics showing areas of Endeavour Crater in color. At the center is Solander Point, the rover's destination after leaving Cape York. The name Nobbys Head refers to a headland on Australia's southeastern shore. This mosaic spans about 140 degrees.
         Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this image.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
