Right Fin

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 3062 (September 3, 2012).  This view shows an area of outcrop near a finlike feature on Shoemaker Ridge. The rover eventually approached this area for further investigation with the instruments on its robotic arm. Approximately 1.7 meters (5.6 feet) of outcrop is imaged here. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
