Sao Gabriel Crater  << back to mosaics

Sao Gabriel Crater

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 3019 (July 21, 2012).  The field of view is approximately 53 degrees wide and shows Sao Gabriel Crater as the rover drove past it. The crater is approximately 7 meters in diameter. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used to make this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
