This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2827 (January 6, 2012). The image shows an outcrop on the inner rim of 22 kilometer (14 mile) wide Endeavour Crater. The field of view is approximately 40 degrees wide. The mosaic is named in memory of John Richard Morris, who passed away in 2011. He was a Mission Manager for the Mars Exploration Rover team and worked on the development of Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
