Burns Bravo

The Opportunity rover acquired this mosaic of Burns Cliff, in Endurance Crater, stretching out in front of the rover on Sol 281 (Nov. 07, 2004). Covering and area about 45 degrees wide, the mosaic provided furter close-up imaging of the layering in Burns Cliff, as well as providing driving information for the tricky 30 degree slope in front of the rover. 'Bravo' refers to its designation, with an 'Alpha' mosaic covering an area closer to the rover having been taken earlier.
This mosaic was acquired in Pancam's 753-nm, 535-nm, and 432-nm filters. Two versions are offered here at full resolution: an approximately true color rendering, and a false color stretch to bring out subtle color differences in the scene.
