Drive Direction

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2732 (September 30, 2011).  Although drive-direction reconnaissance imaging is usually monochrome, Opportunity was spending time in one spot doing measurements on outcrop target Chester Lake with its spectrometers, so extra images with color filters were added to the original single-color mosaic. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
