This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 239 (September 4, 2004). This image was taken to look for changes in the area the rover would be sitting on top of over solar conjunction. The plan was to image the area, drive onto it and sit for a few weeks, then back up and image the area again. The post-conjunction image can be found here. Part of the front deck, solar panels, and right front wheel can be seen in the bottom of this view. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. Three versions are provided at full resolution: an overhead perspective projection of an approximate true color rendering, an overhead perspective projection of a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and an overhead perspective projection of a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing through red-blue glasses.
