Sky Flats Ground

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2350 (September 3, 2010). The ground just off the back of the rover can be seen in this image. Along with an image of the sky, this mosaic was used for calibration and assessment of dust buildup on Pancam's front window. The field of view is approximately 24 degrees wide. Pancam's 601nm, 535nm, and 482nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Three versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing through red-blue glasses. The rover's Low Gain Antenna (LGA) can be seen in the right eye of the stereo image but not in the left, making the LGA appear transparent.
