Endeavour  << back to mosaics

Endeavour

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2318 (August 1, 2010).  These five half-frames show the extent of the rim of Endeavour Crater visible from the rover's location at the time. The false color view has been rendered to highlight the distant crater rim, which makes the nearer ripples appear excessively red.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used to make this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene. The field of view is approximately 67° wide.
