West Ripple Face

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2237 (May 10, 2010) at about 15:05 LSTB (local Mars time). It shows the texture of a west-facing ripple. The upper right image of this mosaic was also taken at a different time (Sol 2236 at about 11:16 LSTB, local Mars time), so the effects of lighting changes could be compared.  Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
