This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1950 (July 19, 2009). The view shows a small crater among the ripples in Meridiani Planum. The field of view is approximately 40 degrees wide. The visible seam between frames (more obvious in the false color version) is caused by dust buildup on Pancam's front sapphire window.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
