Donousa
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1923 (June 21, 2009). This is an area of outcrop named for the Greek island Donousa. The variations in color intensity at the seams of the mosaic are due to dust on the optics deposited during a dust storm.
Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
