West Homeplate

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 1888 (April 25, 2009).  The field of view shown is approximately 106 degrees wide. The image shows a portion of the western side of Home Plate very close to where Spirit ultimately became permanently embedded. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing with red blue glasses.
