Sky Flats Ground |
||||
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1849 (April 6, 2009). The rover took this image of nearby ground shortly after completing the Resolution Pan. It was taken along with an image of the sky, to be used for calibration and dust accumulation assessment. The visible seam between frames (more obvious in the false color version) is caused by dust buildup on Pancam's front sapphire window. Pancam's 601nm, 535nm, and 482nm filters were used in this mosaic. Three versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for viewing in 3D through red-blue glasses.
