Mustang

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 1798 (Jan. 23, 2009).  The image shows a section of the Northern edge of Home Plate, taken after a drive. Near the bottom right, a few of the rocks have been disturbed by the rover's wheels. The field of view is approximately 42 degrees wide. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
