Iceland
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1682 (October 16, 2008). Iceland was an area of nearby ground the rover imaged as it sat at Cape Agulhas. The field of view is approximately 42 degrees wide. The whitish seam between the frames (more obvious in the false color mosaic) is caused by dust buildup on Pancam's front sapphire window.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
