Logan

        This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1623 (August 17, 2008). Logan was part of a series of rock targets the rover imaged as it climbed out of Victoria Crater. The field of view is about 30 degrees wide. The target was named after 19th century Canadian sedimentologist William E. Logan. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
