Drive Direction

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 146 (May 31, 2004).  The field of view is approximately 80 degrees wide. This unconventional mosaic was taken in stereo, with additional color filters on two frames. The image shows Spirit's progress toward the Columbia Hills. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing with red blue glasses.
