Home Plate Center

The Spirit rover acquired this mosaic of an area near the center of Home Plate on Sol 1395 (Dec. 6, 2007).   Home Plate has been at the center of Spirit's investigation and experimentation since the rover arrived to the region.  The field of view is about 45 degrees across.
This mosaic was created using Pancam's 753-nm, 535-nm, and 432-nm filters. Two versions are offered here at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to bring out subtle color differences in the scene.
