Hummock   << back to mosaics

Hummock

The Spirit rover acquired this mosaic of an area near the horizon dubbed Hummock on Sol 1377 (Nov 17, 2007).   You can see the lighter toned area, near the base of the hills, that was the area of interest for this mosaic.  The field of view is about 45 degrees across.
This mosaic was acquired in Pancam's 753-nm, 535-nm, and 432-nm filters. Two versions are offered here at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to bring out subtle color differences in the scene.
