Ripples

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 1371 (November 11, 2007).  This was taken during Spirit's traverse on top of Homeplate to its northern side. This 2x1 shows ripples in the Gusev crater valley floor. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
