Duck Bay
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1281 (August 31, 2007). Duck Bay is the site of Opportunity's ingress into Victoria Crater. When the rover first arrived at Victoria, it was at approximately this same site, but a traverse partway around the crater did not turn up a better ingress position. Dust on Pancam's optics is visible at the seams of the mosaic.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
