This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1109 (March 8, 2007). This was intended to hit the rover tracks after a drive. However the drive terminated early so the tracks weren't where they were expected to be. So we got an image of the IDD (Instrument Deployment Device) and some terrain directly in front of the rover. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
