Ejecta Layer
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 045 (February 17, 2004). This is a survey of the ejecta blanket of rocks surrounding the Laguna Hollow crater. The rover was sitting in the center of Laguna Hollow when this was taken. The diameter of the crater is about 3m, and so this image is centered about 1.5m away from the rover.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
