Dark Rock Hills |
||||
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 024 (February 17, 2004). The rover peered beyond the walls of Eagle Crater into the expansive plains of Meridiani Planum and captured this image. This view shows an area of the crater wall about 4 meters wide. The soil takes on a blueish tint in the False color image as a result of the tiny spherules of Hematite that blanket the ground at this landing site.
