Great Wall

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sols 3 and 4 (January 26 and 27, 2004).  This image was taken days after the lander rolled to a stop in Eagle Crater on Mars. It shows the outcrop in the crater wall, which was immediately visible from Opportunity's position at the landing site. About 14 meters (46 feet) of the crater wall are shown in this image. The two lower frames to the right of center were taken before the rover stood up on the lander, and show a slightly different perspective of the scene. Pancam's 601nm, 535nm, and 482nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph to simulate the scene in 3D through red-blue glasses.
