Cleaned Again: Spirit Self Portrait

NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit used its panoramic camera to take the images combined into this third mosaic view of the rover. The downward-looking view omits the mast on which the camera is mounted. It shows that much of the dust that normally accumulates on Spirit's solar panels (see the sol 329A-330A Spirit self portrait panorama) was once again "cleaned" off the deck, this time by a wind event on sol 1224. The images were taken through the camera's 601nm, 535nm and 482nm filters on Sol 1229 (June 18, 2007).
