Photometry East

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 931 (August 16, 2006). The 16 degree wide column shows the light toned material churned up by Spirit's dragging right front wheel at multiple times of day. This image was taken at 11:12 LST. The same area was imaged at 15:58 and 11:45 LST. Pancam's 753 nm, 601 nm, and 432 nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
