Drive Direction |
||||
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 4929 (December 5, 2017). About 32 degrees wide, the upcoming drive direction further into Perseverance Valley is shown above. This particular drive direction mosaic was taken to give Opportunity's planning team color information about a rough patch of terrain ahead. View the full traverse map up to Sol 4997 thanks to JPL to see Opportunity's descent down Perseverance Valley located on the western rim of Endeavor Crater. Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
