Knarr   << back to mosaics

Knarr

The Opportunity rover acquired this mosaic on Sol 418 (March 27, 2005). This crater, named after the Viking ship 'Knarr,' provides a good chance to view rocks and layering under the soil. This crater is quite small (about 7 meters in diameter) and degraded.
This mosaic was generated from Pancam's 753-nm, 535-nm, and 432-nm filters. Two versions are offered here at full resolution: an approximately true color rendering, and a false color stretch to bring out subtle color differences in the scene.
