Spirit of St. Louis

        NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity acquired this sweeping view of Spirit of St. Louis Crater on Sols 3973 and 3974 (March 29 and 30, 2015). The rover sat on the western rim of 14 mile (22 kilometer) diameter Endeavour Crater to shoot this mosaic. Spirit of St. Louis Crater is the slightly darker circular feature in the center of this image. It is about 110 feet (34 meters) long and 80 feet (24 meters) wide, punctuated by a 7-10 foot (2-3 meter) high rocky feature toward its far rim.

         Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used to create this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing with red blue glasses.
