Tracks

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 387 (February 3, 2005).  The image shows the marks left by Spirit's wheels as she climbed up into the Columbia Hills. For scale, the distance between the two parallel tracks is about 1 meter (3.3 feet). Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing with red blue glasses.
