Fin

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 3060 (September 1, 2012).  This approximately 40 degree wide mosaic shows a finlike feature near Shoemaker Ridge on Cape York. It was imaged at another time of day on Sol 3058. The horizontal black line in the right side of the image is actually an intentional gap between two half height frames, created out of a desire to fit more outcrop into the coverage. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
