Endeavour rim
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2659 (July 17, 2011). On the long trek to Endeavour Crater, Opportunity periodically took images of the rim visible on the horizon. Here, Endeavour Crater is approximately 1200 meters away. The apparent tilt of the horizon is because the rover was parked at a tilt when the images were acquired.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
