Endeavour Rim  << back to mosaics

Endeavour Rim

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2568 (April 15, 2011).  Opportunity periodically took images of the rim of Endeavour Crater on the long trek toward this science target. Some of these images will be combined into a sequence documenting Opportunity's journey. This view is to the east of Spirit Point, the goal of Opportunity's traverse. Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
